Both linguistics and philology can be described as the two main branches of language studies. On one hand, the former is the name given to the wide spectrum of disciplines that study language as a faculty and languages as linguistic codes. On the other side, the latter is the (increasingly unused) term given to the study of the culture and the texts of a particular language, albeit comparing, in many instances, various languages and communities. The applications these disciplines may have in social and productive processes are diverse. From text editing and translation, document and speech drafting for specialized spheres, to linguistic research in service of public policies and justice, the possibilities we offer at Lingua Franca are of great values.

In current society, philosophy is one of the least understood disciplines and is therefore extremely difficult to define in a concise manner. We can say, however, that it addresses a series of issues in order understand the world: it inquires, among other things, about science and knowledge, ethics and morals, reasoning and logic, happiness and love, justice and inequality, among other topics. An earnest and rigorous application of philosophy in social and productive processes can make the distinction between fake news and real information, between a well-reasoned process and a jumbled one, between peaceful negotiation and violence, between democracy and absolutism, and in sum, between a sound decision and a bad one. At Lingua Franca, we make use of these applications in our services and in the services of others, such as corporate communication, strategies for conflict resolution, and media monitoring.

Education is in such a way both a practice and a scientific field that it is hard to make a clear-cut difference. Broadly speaking, it can be said that processes —both didactic and pedagogical— are focused on learning individual features and, at the same time, social mechanisms. That is why, in Lingua Franca, we are interested in placing at the service of the different areas the approaches, strategies and techniques which furnish training processes at all levels. To this effect, we offer two possibilities: virtual training or in-person classes, both prepared with the most rigorous and efficient standards. Likewise, we offer the educational sector all our experience and knowledge in process of creation, registration, and certification programs.
